Brazil Lists Formidable Squad Against Super Eagles

The Brazil national team has listed a formidable 23-man squad to play Nigeria in an international friendly match.

The Selecao submitted an ‘A list’ for the game which will be played in Singapore on the 13th of October after playing Senegal on the 10th.

Among the stars listed are Neymar, Coutinho, Casemiro, Thiago Silva, Dani Alves among others.

Stars from the Premier League are- Ederson (Manchester City), Fabinho (Liverpool) and Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City) who are also listed in the 23-man squad.

However, Coach Gehnot Rorh of Nigeria is yet to name the squad that will lock horns with these superstars. As usually said, a team is as good as its last game. Nigerians do not expect a different squad than the youthful team that prosecuted the West African recent game against Ukraine.

A further breakdown of Selecao 23-man squad revealed that three shot-stoppers, eight defenders, six midfielders and six forward will slog it out for a starting role at the 55,000 capacity National Stadium in Singapore.

Brazil’s Selecao 23-man squad for Senegal’s Teranga Lions and Nigeria’s Super Eagles games:

Goalkeepers (3) : Ederson (Manchester City), Santos (Athletico-PR), Weverton (Palmeiras)

Defenders (8) : Eder Militão (Real Madrid), Marquinhos (PSG), Rodrigo Caio (Flamengo), Thiago Silva (PSG), Alex Sandro (Juventus), Daniel Alves (São Paulo), Danilo (Juventus), Renan Lodi (Atlético de Madrid)

The last time both teams met was in 2003. The game ended 3 nil in favour of the South American at the Abuja National Stadium in Nigeria.
