International Friendly: Ukraine Forced Nigeria to a 2-2 Draw


Ukraine national football team savaged a 2-2 draw against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in an international friendly after losing by 2goals in the first half.

The game which held at Dnipro, Ukraine witnessed numbers of spectators who came out en-mass to support their teams.

Nigeria had an early goal in the fourth minutes through a tap-in from one of the debutants, Joe Ayodele-Aribo. Joe received a good square play from Iwobi after a wonderful play from Samuel Kalu to open space.

The West African team was two goals up after scoring from the spot. Samuel Kalu was fouled in the box, the referee pointed to the spot and Victor Osimhen splendidly notched it home. The first half ended, Nigeria 2 Ukraine 0.

Ukraine has never been beaten by an African side. Nigeria didn’t succeed too. The Ukrainians came out strong in the second half with a determination to restore parity. Man City midfielder, Zinchenko, who has been creative create a chance for himself with a touch and shot to the near bar. He brought his team back to the game.

As Nigeria started the game again, Shevchenko’s men scored another, though controversial, making it 2goals in a minute. The ball actually hit the player’s hand to roll into the net. The referee ruled out the goal for hand ball but the lineman insist that it is a goal. The goal counts, 2-2. None of the teams could put an icing on the cake afterwards till the game ended. Ukraine 2-2 Nigeria.
