The embattled Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Reverend Biodun Fatoyinbo finally bow to pressure, steps down.

The founder of COZA Global was accused of rape by Mrs Busola Dakolo, the wife to Timi Dakolo and the mother of three when she was a teenager. The astonishing revelation has caused uproar across the country particularly with a protest at the Abuja branch of the church on Sunday asking the pastor to step down from the pulpit. Biodun Fatoyinbo bows to pressure and did as the protesters demand.

He said the past few days have been sobering for him over the ongoing reports in the media in which he had prayed and seek counsel on from Christian leaders who feel concerned.

Drawing from their counsel and that of the leadership of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly and owing to my love for God’s work and the sacredhonour of my calling, I have decided to take a leave of absence from the pulpit of the church.

He said though it is a tough decision for him but he thinks it is the right thing to do at this time in the interest of the people and the congregation as he will not want to be a distraction between them and God.

He hereby asked people to pray for him because he do not understand what is happening.

My confidence in the Lord is unwavering. Though, I do not understand all that is happening. I trust the Lord to lead and guide me one step at a time. Kindly pray for me and the congregation of COZA as we seek the face of the Lord during these turbulent times. Thank you and God bless you.

He concluded.
