The Economic Community of West African State and President Muhammadu Buhari as the Chairman finally honour Doctor Stella Adadevoh for her heroism in ensuring Ebola did not get to the Nigeria community.

Dr. Adadevoh risked her life for the lives of the people of Nigeria by keeping Ebola at bay which in the process, she lost her own life.

Honouring this woman with a posthumous award and may be with a national edifice named after her is long overdue according to well meaning Nigerians. But today it finally happens. President Buhari presented to her a posthumous ECOWAS Award of Excellence in his capacity as the chairman of the regional organization.

He praised Mrs Adadevoh’s sacrifice and heroism which earn her this recognition.

Today, in my capacity as ECOWAS Chairman, I presented a posthumous ECOWAS Award of Excellence to Mr. Bankole Cardoso, on behalf of his mother, the late Dr. Stella Adadevoh.

Dr. Adadevoh’s sacrifice and heroism, for Nigeria, in the fight against Ebola, will never be forgotten.
