Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has stated that the Federal Government was working carefully with the State Governments in its efforts to rid the nation of kidnappings, Nigeria news Live reports.

Osinbajo, while addressing some Nigerians in New York, was quoted as saying that the continuing insecurity within the country notably kidnapping and banditry have been being exaggerated.

However his Spokesperson, Laolu Akande, informed DAILY POST that this was the central message Osinbajo was conveying in New York at a Town hall assembly with the Nigerian neighborhood.

In an exclusive chat with Ali Adoyi on Wednesday, Akande stated he had seen a few of the misleading stories and the next reactions of some group together with a faction of Afenifere.

He stated that the present wave of the menace in the nation will yield a more secure nation.

In accordance with him, “a closer studying of what the VP said would have prevented some of unnecessary the interpretations we’ve heard.”

Itemizing 4 crucial factors made by the Vice President, Akande explained that the VP made it clear that, “indeed the kidnappings occurring where they do, are a priority to the federal government.

Moreover, he added that, “the FG is utilizing technology and tracking devices to curtail the situation.”

Prof Osinbajo defined that, “the abductors are engaged in criminal conduct and with penalties enforced for such economic crimes, the abductors would stop.”

Lastly, the VP assured Nigerians both residence and abroad that “the FG is on top of the scenario and that the issue of kidnapping isn’t unsurmountable.”

He quoted the president thus; “the problem isn’t as massive that it cannot be solved and the FG working with the States would resolve it quickly and make life safer and comfortable for Nigeria.”

In accordance with Akande, these are the things the VP said and the document is there, adding that, “Another interpretation isn’t only inaccurate but must be ignored.”

He insisted that, “Making an attempt to latch on an inaccurate headline to attack the Vice President isn’t very useful, it solely distorts and distracts from the work and our country needs all hands on deck to sort out our issues.”
