It was a lively game. Although, the Super Eagles had more shot on target but the Guinea side were in charge of possession from start to finish which was not enough to help them beat Nigeria in the encounter.
Nigeria started slowly in the first half allowing their opponent to shoot from range, but came out stronger in the second half with Musa, Iwobi, Ighalo, Moses Simon all running through the Guineans back four.
Iwobi forced Ibrahim Kone to two great saves before Kenneth Omeruo headed home the only goal of the game from a corner kick taken by Simon for Nigeria in the 74th minutes.
Before this game, both teams have beaten themselves five times and drew in 7 games, so, this win means Nigeria go up by one in head to head.
Furthermore, this win makes Nigeria the first team to qualify to the knockout stage in Egypt, 2019 having amassed 6-points, plus 2 goal difference, and a game to spare against Madagascar.
Finally, the Eagles play better than they do in the first game against Burundi with five changes in the line up.
