Boko Haram Laid Ambush to steal Nigeria Army Food Supply in Borno as Hunger Hits Them Hard

The Nigerian Military has confirmed that Boko Haram terrorists waited in ambush at Wala village in northern Borno State to steal foods being conveyed to the army base, Nigeria new live reports.

The acting Director, Military Public Relations, Col Sagir Musa, who confirmed the incident, mentioned that the troops were capable of, however, combat through the ambush and killed two of the terrorists.

According to Herald Nigeria, the troops of 26 Brigade Garrison have been on patrol and escort duties of civilian retailers and commuters alongside Wala village on Saturday after they ran into the insurgents, who opened “heavy gunfire on them.”

Musa, mentioned, “In its routine effort at providing and maintaining a gradual passage of persons and items as well as free vehicular movements alongside notable routes in the North-East, troops of 26 Brigade Garrison on Saturday had a fierce encounter with a desperate terrorists’ ambush group yearning for food and different necessities.

“Through the encounter, troops responded with heavy gunfire, exterminated two terrorists and captured two AK-47 rifles. Subsequently, intelligence revealed that the terrorists were informed by their informants of the troops’ movement, wanting to make use of the chance to seize foodstuffs.”

“The acting General Officer Commanding, 7 Division, Brig.-Gen Abdulmalik Biu, on behalf of the Chief of Military Employees, commended the troops for the successes achieved and urged them to be more decisive to end the insurgency.”
