Trezeguet’s Goal Seals Opening Victory for Egypt Over Zimbabwe

The Pharaohs of Egypt record an AFCON opening game victory against the Warriors of Zimbabwe in Cairo.

The home team does the needful against a good South African side in front of a cheering mammoth crowd in the National Stadium.

Both team begin the game with high spirit but Egypt proved a better side following the numbers of time they forced the Warriors goalkeeper, Sibanda into saves.

However, Egypt broke the deadlock in the 40th minutes of the game, thanks to Mahmoud Trezeguet’s curler after dispossessing the opposition captain, Knowledge Musona off the ball.

Egypt dominated the game with Mo Sallah recording two shots on target against two different goalie. Egypt goalie also made a couple of saves in the game.

Following a barren second half, the game ended Egypt 1-Zimbabwe 0. Egypt hereby sit on top of the log in group A having 3points and a goal pending other games of the group.
