Although the electoral commission declared Benjamin Uwajumogu winner of the ballot that held on February 23, it didn’t issue him a certificates of return.
The commission had arrange a committee to assessment the conduct of the election.
Not happy with the choice of the commission, the senator-elect challenged INEC’s decision in courtroom.
In a ruling on Wednesday, Taiwo Taiwo, the judge, ordered INEC to remain any further action pending the determination of the application “for prohibition”, NAN reports.
The judge additionally granted Uwajumogu permission to apply for a judicial review of INEC’s decision.
Taiwo further ordered the senator-elect to serve all the required processes on the respondent within three days.
