Buhari Accept Adeosun Resignation, Appoints Zainab Ahmed As new Minister of Finance

President Muhammadu Buhari has accepted the resignation of the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun.

This was contained in a announcement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

Buhari thanked Adeosun for her services to the country and wished her properly in her destiny interests.

NIGERIA DAILY TIMES had stated that Adeosun, who graduated from London East Polytechnic at the age of 22 in 1989, didn’t comply with NYSC Act, which made it compulsory for every Nigerian graduate at domestic or overseas to participate in three hundred and sixty five days of obligatory provider to the country.

Recall that the NYSC had stated that from their data, Adeosun implemented for an exemption certificates, but failed to confirm whether or not the request became granted or no longer.

The Presidency in its initial reaction to the saga, said it hopes the certificate forgery allegation against the Minister of Finance might soon be established to be false and introduced that investigations were ongoing.

President Muhammadu buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu, turned into quoted as announcing then: “The Minister of Information has spoken on the problem. And a method is ongoing to address the allegations. When that manner is complete, Nigerians will understand the outcome.

“Some people want a particular outcome and because they are yet to see this outcome, they are not happy. Give it (investigation) time. There is a process ongoing.”

President Buhari has now also approved that the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, should oversee the Ministry of Finance with effect from today (Friday).
