  1. Eight persons have been killed in the last 48 hours in Barkin Ladi LGA of Plateau State by unknown gunmen. Five of them were said to have been killed on Tuesday at Gana-Ropp village, while the other three which include Pastor where also attacked and killed at Nding village of Barkin Ladi LGA on Thursday morning. This was confirmed by the Spokesman of the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Mathias Terna Tyopev.
  2. The three Inspectors who raided the home of elder statesman, Edwin Clark, have been dismissed by the Nigeria Police Force. Their dismissal was contained in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood on Thursday. He said the officers were dismissed for ‘unprofessional misconduct while in search of the residence of Chief Edwin Clark in Asokoro’.
  3. A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (All Progressive Congress), SKC Ogbonnia, says President Muhammadu Buhari will break the law if he accepts the N45 million expression of interest and nomination forms bought for him by a group. Ogbonnia said except he rejects the form, the president would contravene section 91 (9) of the country’s electoral law. He argued that no individual or other entity is expected to donate more than one million naira to any candidate.
  4. A former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday, said if President Muhammadu buhari was indeed uncompromising on corruption as claimed by the presidency, he would not have tolerated the reinstatement of sacked Chairman of Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina. He also said Buhari wouldn’t have allowed the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun who has been accused of forgery to remain in his cabinet.

All presidential aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (People\'s Democratic Party) have signed an undertaking to work together and accept whoever emerges as the candidate of the party for the 2019 general elections. Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha (People\'s Democratic Party) Taraba South), disclosed this in an interview with journalists on Thursday at PDP Secretariat in Jalingo.

There was a near stampede on Thursday as former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, headquarters in Abuja. Report says youths believed to be of Atiku’s opposing camp clashed with the former VP’s supporters, a situation that triggered pandemonium. Gunshots were, however, fired in the process.
  2. The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has told the Federal Special Anti Robbery Square (FSARS) across the country, to respect people’s rights or risk being sanctioned.
    Idris who reiterated that membership of FSARS was voluntary, asked those who felt they could not cope with the reforms in the unit to opt out.
  3. The Management of Alterplate Record Label has explained to fans why popular Nigerian music act, Harrison Tare Okiri, better known as Harrysong wrote what appeared to be a suicide note. Harrysong had “Don’t cry when I die. Celebrate! Put up a kingmaker concert; empower more youths. I have lived. I have done my bit. Carry on in grace. TEKERO? I LOVE YOU ALL.#altersoldier.” But a statement by Alterplate Spokesman, Desmond Chima, said the award-winning musician had been suffering depression but that arrangements have been made to provide him psychological help.
  4. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday faulted the purchase of Presidential Nomination form for President Muhammadu Buhari by a group. PDP said the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, should sanction Buhari over violation of the constitution which states that no group should donate more than one million Naira to an aspirant.
  5. There are reports of earth tremors in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, as those living in Mpape, Maitama, Gwarinpa and other areas have complained of constant vibration. Though there is currently no official confirmation as to what is responsible for the vibration, many believe tremors is likely.
